Q. Where can I get Hinemos?

A. Hinemos can be downloaded from Source forge (http://en.sourceforge.jp/projects/hinemos/).here

Q. What can I do with Hinemos?

A. Hinemos can effectively manage operations of multiple computers. For more details on the functions of Hinemos, please refer "here ".

Q. What is the cost to use Hinemos?

A. Hinemos can be downloaded free of charge. However, for paid options and paid packages, please contact us. We also provide maintenance and support services. For Hinemos options and support fees, please refer "here ".

Q. Is there support available for the installation and the operation?

A. We provide technical supports for the installation and the operation. For an estimated cost, please "contact us" .

Q. Do you have any installation cases?

A. Hinemos has many installation cases, including NTT DATA (the largest system integrator in Japan). Please access "here " for more installation cases.

Q. Are there any seminars relating to the usage of Hinemos?

Q. I do not want to install an agent on the management subject. Can I still perform the monitoring features?

A. The protocol used for monitoring is commonly used in the general system monitoring; therefore, most of the monitoring features available can be used. However, some features of the job management and the monitoring management require the agent to be installed.

Q. Does Hinemos runs on OS other than the Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

A. Hinemos is supported by Red Hat Enterprise Linux ,Oracle Linux,CentOS,Amazon Linux.
We offer package for Ubuntu and the UNIX OS (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX). Please contact us for an estimated cost.  

Q. What is HA configuration? And how do I obtain HA configuration?

A. For Hinemos HA configuration, please contact us.  

Q. Are web interfaces provided?

A. In the current version of Hinemos, only GUI is provided.

Q. What are the Hinemos Manager, the Hinemos Client, and the Hinemos Agent?

A. Hinemos Manager: monitors the system, executes jobs, and manages configurations.
Hinemos Client: connects to the Hinemos Manager, and checks and configures the monitoring status.
Hinemos Agent: installed on the managed computer, and responds to monitor and control from the Hinemos Manager.

Q. What are the requirement to start Hinemos?

A. The following are necessary to start Hinemos usage: the Hinemos Manager, the Hinemos Client, and the management object.

Q. How easy is the installation?

A. Follow the installer instructions. We also offer a Japanese document with detailed installation procedures.

Q. Is the installation of the Hinemos Agent necessary?

A. The protocol used for monitoring is commonly used in the general system monitoring; therefore, most of the monitoring features available can be used. However, some features of job management and the monitoring management require the agent to be installed.

Q. Is the installation of the Hinemos Client necessary?

A. Installation of the Hinemos Client is necessary to use Hinemos. The Hinemos Client can be installed from the package or it can be downloaded from the Hinemos Manager.

Q. What is the required screen size to run the Hinemos Client?

A. Recommended resolution for the Hinemos Client is 1280 x 1024 and more.

Q. How many managed nodes can be supported?

A. The number of managed node changes depending on the operation (the number of monitoring items and the status of log output) and the system structure (the hardware specification and the network structure of the Hinemos Manager). When the entry-level server is tested as the Hinemos Manager, it is possible to verify the operation of 500 units per one hinemos manager.

Q. Is it possible to turn on the alarm lamp by event notification?

A. This depends on the interface of the alarm lamp. If alerting method by command/SNMP/mail is provided, it is possible to define a job notification or command notification.

Q. Is it possible to execute job by file transfer?

A. Yes, it is possible to execute job by "File Transfer Job" feature. If other file transfer software is used, link the file transfer software by log.

Q. Is it possible to start job in accordance to the exit status of previously executed job?

A. Yes, it is possible to start job in accordance to the exit status (error/normal) of previously executed job.

Q. Is it possible to register business dates rather than the calendar dates? Is there a feature that automatically postpones the job when the job is scheduled on the holiday?

A. The feature to register business dates and the feature to automatically postpone scheduled job is not available in current version. The job will not be postponed automatically, but it is possible to configure job rerun on the day after the holiday.

Q. Is it possible to import and export the configuration?

A. Import and export of configuration is possible by HinemosUtility. HinemosUtility is available from Atomitech.

Q. What can I do when the session cannot be confirmed between the Hinemos Client and the Hinemos Manager?

A. This problem may occur due to incomplete configuration file after Hinemos installation (for example, incomplete configuration of the "/etc/hosts" file). If the problem cannot be resolved, access "here" for more details, or submit a question through the hinemos blog.
